Andrea holds a prominent place in the Alexandria, Virginia
community since 1988. As a practicing obstetrician and
gynecologist she has delivered babies, performed surgeries
and treated women of three generations now. Since 2000,
she has been a supervising physician in a group, which
integrates professional midwifery with traditional
medicine. Dr. Jackson has extensive experience with a
culturally diverse group of patients in the Washington
metropolitan area. She is particularly sensitive to the
role that culture and economics plays in the healthcare of
women. Her areas of special interest include alternative
and complementary medicine, and the role nutrition; stress
and spirituality play in health and disease. A recent and
impassioned interest of hers is the epidemic of obesity in
American, particularly among children. Dr. Jackson has
served as supervising physician at Planned Parenthood of
America well-woman clinics and Kaiser Permanente, early in
her career. She currently staffs the Prince William Area
Free Clinic, a needs-based public health clinic in
Virginia. She is a graduate of Tuft’s University and Duke
University School of Medicine, with training in her
specialty at George Washington University Medical Center,
Washington, DC. Dr. Jackson is a Fellow of the American
College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, member of Alpha
Kappa Alpha Sorority. Dr Jackson maintained solo practice
for eleven years before coming to the group in January
2000. Her special interests include integrating
alternative and traditional therapies for the prevention
and treatment of a wide range of women's diseases. She is
trained in both high and low risk obstetrics. She is
native Washingtonian, Dr. Jackson resides in the
Washington metropolitan area and is a busy working mom of
four children. The Jackson family’s free time is spent as
active committed members of their local Christian church.
