Lalitha was educated at Gunter Medical College and completed her residency at Howard University Hospital. She is board certified and has been delivering babies at Alexandria Hospital for over fifteen years.  Her husband, Karlu, is a businessman.  The couple has one daughter, Anu, who is a board certified lawyer.  Lalitha enjoys watching movies, gardening and volunteering at her temple.  She has been involved in assisting disadvantaged children in India with aid for their schooling.
