Melinda is originally from Vallejo, California.  She comes from a small family and values the gift of adventurism that her mother instilled in her at a young age.  This enabled her to venture out of California to earn her undergraduate degrees from Oakwood College, in Huntsville, Alabama, and Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, Maryland. 

After 14 years of working in labor and delivery, in various hospitals in the area as well as Pennsylivania and Georgia, she decided to complete her dream and enter midwifery school.  She earned a Masters in Nursing from Georgetown University, with a certificate in Midwifery.  She then went to work for a non-profit health care organization in Washington, D.C., Unity Health Care.  In July of 2004, she joined our practice.  Her interests include old movies, quilting, reading and a new hobby of knitting.  With a love for natural childbirth, Melinda is a welcome addition to our practice.
