Danielle Newkirk, CNM
Danielle joined Physicians and Midwives in May 2009 after graduating from nurse midwifery school from Georgetown University in the winter of 2008. Previously, she practiced as an ICU nurse, first at the University of Pennsylvania for several years then as a travel nurse. As a traveler she worked at some world class hospitals such as Brigham and Women’s, Washington Hospital Center and Georgetown University Hospital. Her ICU experience includes trauma, surgical, medical, cardiovascular and neurosurgery. She graduated from the University of Delaware with bachelors of nursing in 2003.

Danielle has wanted to be a midwife since she was a little girl. She spent time shadowing midwives through her nursing career and absolutely loves her job! She became a Hypnobirthing instructor in September of 2010 and really enjoys empowering women to have the childbirth that they desire.

Her “babies” include a super cute hairless cat and a basset hound/lab mix puppy. The loves of her life are her wonderful husband Kenneth and her amazing teenage siblings Andrea and Jonathan. Her hobbies include yoga, cooking, knitting and she loves to travel.
