Patrice Valle, CNM, MS received her Masters in Science and midwifery education at the University of Minnesota in 1983. She is originally from San Antonio Texas and speaks Spanish. She is married to Mark Maravilla and had a son in 1988 at home in San Francisco, CA. She is also an artist creating everything from paper mâché bowls to paper, fabric and clay jewelry.. She became a midwife after seeing a midwife deliver a baby in Boston. She fell in love with the midwife’s ability to empower the birthing woman, when she had lost all hope. “We need more of this on this planet!”
