Dr. Giammittorio is the founder and CEO of the Collaborative Practice. He is the past Chairman of Caesarean Section Committee Department of OBGYN, INOVA Alexandria Hospital, current member of Quality Assessment committee INOVA Alexandria Hospital and current member of Central Credentialing Advisory Committee for CareFirst. He was named one of the region’s “top doctors” in the obstetrics/gynecology category by Washingtonian magazine in 2008. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond and the Medical College of Virginia. He interned at M.C.V. and served his residency at Providence Hospital, Washington D.C. He is Board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. G. is a member of the third generation of a large Italian-American family who all live and work in the area. He married Roberta Friedman in 1982. Roberta teaches music to toddlers with her “Miss Roberta’s Music Together” program. They have three children who are graduates of James Madison University, The University of Virginia and Virginia Tech and are pursuing their own careers.
He is passionate about pursuing the practice’s mission statement….”We believe that we can keep the CARE in medical care”.
