Sara Pinkman, CNM,
joined our staff in June 2006. She has 31 years assisting
women with pregnancy and childbirth. She attended Boston
University for her undergraduate studies. Sara began
teaching childbirth education and assisting women in
childbirth in a three year apprenticeship under two board
certified Obstetrician-Gynecologists in Boston.
Sara moved to Florida where she maintained a private
practice after becoming a Licensed Midwife in 1981. After
17 years of attending women with homebirths, Sara earned
her Bachelor of Science and RN degree from Regent’s
College of the University of the State of New York (now
Excelsior College). She earned her certificate in
Nurse-Midwifery in 1993 from Education Programs
Associates, which is affiliated with San Jose State
University. Since that time, she has worked full scope
midwifery in a variety of clinical settings, including
birth centers, private practices and midwifery services at
hospitals in Florida, Baltimore, Maryland and Virginia.
Sara has two daughters, Jessica, age 34, and Michelle, age
31. Her interests include dancing, cooking and
alternative and complimentary therapies for women’s
health.
