Dr. David C. Giammittorio, founder and CEO of the Physician and Midwife Collaborative Practice, was recently appointed to the Virginia Board of Medicine by Governor Bob McDonnell. He is joined by two other appointees, Dr. Syed Salman Ali of Vienna and Deborah DeMoss Fonseca of Springfield.
“I’m thrilled to have been appointed to the Virginia Board of Medicine,” Dr. Giammittorio said. “I look forward to working alongside the other members to uphold the high standards of medicine in Virginia.”
Named one of the region’s “top doctors” in his field by Washingtonian magazine in 2008, Dr. Giammittorio is Board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond and the Medical College of Virginia, where he found his calling.
In addition to his new appointment, Dr. Giammittorio is the past Chairman of Caesarean Section Committee Department of OBGYN, INOVA Alexandria Hospital, current member of Quality Assessment committee INOVA Alexandria Hospital and current member of Central Credentialing Advisory Committee for CareFirst.
